32nd Birdfair and its auction

The annual British Birdwatching Fair took place on 18–23 August 2020 only online. The biggest event in the birdwatching and ecotourism exhibitions takes place every August; however, it has been cancelled for the first time because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Despite this, the virtually held Birdfair saw many visitors and exhibitors.

Birdfair’s coordinator Mr Nicola Brown said, “It has been a huge success and we have had many fantastic comments on it and everybody loved the auction this year! We are happy to announce we raised £6,757 from the auction and we are very grateful to you for your kind donation.”

For the sixteenth consecutive year, Wild Echo took participation in the Birdfair. This year Wild Echo took part only in the virtual auction with our tour “Tulips, Orchids and Butterflies Photography.” The 9-day trip for up to 6 people who are going to take shots of the beautiful endemic tulips, orchids and butterflies in Bulgaria was sold successfully. We, from Wild Echo express our gratitude to the winner and everyone else for their continued support and donation.

The first Birdfair was held in 1989, and over its 31-year history, the event has raised more than £5 million. This is the first time the event has been held online. Wild Echo will continue taking part in the fair in the years to come. Looking forward to seeing you.
