Our recent Butterflies of Turkey tour was a great success again and finished with over 150 species!
Highlights included Small Desert Blue, Grass Jewel, Anatolian Fiery Copper, Eastern Brown Argus, Bosnian Blue, Chelmos Blue, Turkish Furry Blue, Anatolian Chalk-hill Blue, Poseidon Blue, Gerhard`s Black Hairstreak, Odd-spot Blue, Larger Anatolian Blue, Pontic Blue, Orange Hermit, Freyer`s Grayling, White-bordered Grayling, Ionian Emperor, several species of Tawny Rockbrowns, White-banded Grayling, Great Steppe Grayling, Persian Fritillary, Amasian Satyr, Inky Skipper. One day we have seen more than 20 Fiery Coppers, posing nicely on the flowers of tall plants; one another we enjoyed many Millet Skippers, egg laying and posing nicely on the stones or on the foodplant. Many interesting and rare birds and dragonflies were also recorded, as well as nice flowers.
